Wisconsin Business Woes
By host on 6/20/2008
Wisconsin is going through business woes yet again. GM has pulled out their Janesville plant (due to SUV sales slowing?) and Delphi (due to bankruptcy?). Briggs also is moving most of their manufacturing from Milwaukee. http://badgerblogalliance.blogspot.com/2008/06/gm-pullout-exposes-states-vulnerability.html http://wistechnology.com/articles/4803/

Sandcastle
By host on 6/11/2008
Microsoft is considering what to do with Sandcastle. Is no one interested in C# XML comments any more? First NDoc and now Sandcastle? Hopefully this just a location change from one hosting system to another. http://www.squaredroot.com/post/2008/06/Sandcastle-Removed-From-CodePlex.aspx

Static Code Analysis
By host on 6/10/2008
It is foolish to not use static code analysis tools. Here are some of the tools to choose from. Most teams that I work on underestimate the effort of a buildmaster. Someone who upkeeps the source control, continuous integration, build and tools. Here are just a few of the code and executable analysis tools I have used when developing. This doesn’t event account for the testing (Unit Testing, etc…) and bug tracking. C++ http://www.codeproject.com/KB/cpp/MemLeakDetect.aspx Lint (http://docs.sun.com/source/806-3567/lint.html) PClint (http://www.gimpel.com/) Bounds Checker (http://www.compuware.com/products/devpartner/visualc.htm) Purify (http://www-306.ibm.com/software/awdtools/purify/?S_TACT=105AGY59&S_CMP=09&ca=dtl-0903) Insure++ (http://www.parasoft.com/jsp/products/home.jsp?product=Insure) Valgrind (http://www.parasoft.com/jsp/products/home.jsp?product=Insure) Coverity (http://www.coverity.com/) .Net Purify (http://www-306.ibm.com/software/awdtools/purify/?S_TACT=105AGY59&S_CMP=09&ca=dt
