The whole reason I bought Microsoft Money 2006 was to sync my data with my PPC6700, after all the Pocket PC version of Microsoft Money is free. I was using a 2 year old version of Quicken and I needed to upgrade anyway. I bought the software and part of it downloaded. I immediately looked for the import from Quicken option which I assumed had to exist. I couldn’t find it. Then I got a message saying the full product (which I was already using) was downloaded and installed. Then I saw the option:

Microsoft even advertises the PocketPC version like no other product they have (except Streets & Trips):

I downloaded the CAB file and installed it. But I didn’t get the shortcut link to run it because I chose the installation option to install it on the storage card. This also caused the today plugin to not work.
On first open, it said to sync first if using the desktop version.
So I turned to activesync and the sync of the data. I saw it in the list and configured it:

This is all in ActiveSync 4.1 of course because that is what you use with the PPC6700. I finally saw it in the sync:

But then all it did was hang:

I saw that it did seem to install some databases:

I was so confused I looked on the Microsoft Money Unofficial FAQ page, then I found the MVP site for MS Money, finally I went directly to the microsoft.public.money newsgroup. I found directly that the Pocket PC version of Microsoft Money does not work with Windows Mobile 5. Then I found a person on the newsgroup with the exact same problem I had!
So this doesn’t work L! The rumor is that this will not work until Money 2007. When that will come who knows. So I guess I will have to use one of the following substitutes:
SPB Finance
Cash Organizer
Oh yeah, the Money uninstall performed a hard reset on my PPC.
